At the time of WAR!
Russian scientists trying to find the answer to the question. "What if we force them to stay awake for a very long time, will we see any change in their efficiency, workload, and capable of fighting?"
Those scientists demand some subjects, so they can do experiments on them, and also monitor them.

In the late 1940s, they chose 5 subjects. They locked those 5 subjects in a single cell and released a special gas from a decentralized duct so that if anyone could inhale it, his/her sleep would be gone. They set up everything like food, books, water, bathroom. But the only thing that was missing was "Beds". Because this is the experiment, they're not allowed to sleep.
They promised those 5 subjects if they do not sleep for 30 days, which is impossible but still. If they do not sleep for 30 days, they will be released from prison with respect.
Day 1 - Day 5:
Scientists didn't see any drastic change in those starting 5 days, but they noticed that the conversations between those subjects were getting darker. On Day 1, they all talk normally like how they came here, exchanging their names, all everyday conversations. But on Day 5, they started talking about their life's darkest secrets and sharing traumatic experiences again and again.
The other thing they noticed was that all the subjects were paranoid. At the end of the 5th day; Those subjects stopped talking with each other. They all were mumbling in their microphones.
Are scientists trying to find the solution to why they aren't talking? They assumed that maybe it was because of the GAS.
Day 5 - Day 9:
One of those 5 subjects started screaming at its full capacity and high intensity, continuously for 3 hours. After he stopped screaming scientists checked him and figured out that he damaged his vocal cords.

Day 14:
Scientists announced that they were coming inside the cell, but they didn't receive any reply from those subjects, those subjects were lying on the floor and it seemed like they were not living; they were just existing. The main purpose of entering the cell was to repair their microphones because they thought the problem was in the microphone.
They announced one more thing, if they cooperate nicely, they'll set them free.
But someone (from those 5 subjects), we don't want to go out, we want to live here only.
This "The Russian Sleep Experiment" was a hidden project, and when the Russian Intelligence got to know about this secret project, they immediately released the order to stop this experiment and free those subjects. Those scientists followed the order and stopped that experiment, when they stopped giving them that toxic GAS, those subjects were begging them "Please... We'll die... Please use that GAS again."
Scientists understood that they are addicted to that GAS and that toxic GAS is now a part of them. Without that GAS they won't survive.
The scientists noticed that those subjects hadn't consumed even a single sip of water in the past 5 days. When they examined those 4 subjects they were shocked because they saw... those subjects ate their flesh and used their nails and fingers to peel their skin. They started eating themselves. They're digesting their flesh.
When they took these subjects to the doctor for their surgery. The doctor gave anaesthesia to that subject, more than 10 times, but that subject was laughing, anesthesia was not working on his body. that subject started fighting with that doctor. In that fight, he broke his ribs and the doctor's right arm got injured badly.
All the subjects were behaving like wild animals.
That subject demands that he wants his surgery to be done without using anaesthesia. It was very difficult for that doctor to do surgery because the subject was laughing continuously.
Those subjects constantly demanding for the GAS. They just want to inhale that toxic GAS.
When they were doing surgery on the last subject, the doctor declared him brain-dead more than 2 times because the subject's brain and heart were flatlining again and again.
At the time of surgery, the available nurse; the subject was smiling in the middle of the surgery and also passed a smile to the nurse, which is very creepy and disturbing.
The general who was handling that project "The Russian Sleep Experiment", said, "Let's get back to work and try 5 more days with that toxic GAS". As the sentence ended one of those scientists used his revolver and shot that general on the point, and went back inside the cell and he couldn't believe himself that they were humans.
That scientist was in shock after looking at those subjects. He asked them "Who are you? I don't want to live with you all!" One of the subjects came and stood in front of that scientist and just smiled. That subject answered, "WE ARE THE DEMON INSIDE YOU". That scientist shot that subject too and the last words of that subject were "FINALLY WE ARE FREE!".
